Certificate of Application for a Tax File Number (TFN)

I have applied for a Tax File Number, but have not yet received one. What should I do if the University asks me to provide my Tax File Number?

If you have applied for a Tax File Number (TFN) but have not yet received one, and applied through Australia Post, you will be provided with an application receipt which can be used as a Certificate of Application for a Tax File Number. If you applied directly to the Australian Taxation Office (ATO), the ATO can supply you with a Certificate of Application.

If the University requests that you provide a Tax File Number during this application period, you will need to provide a certified copy of your Certificate of Application or your Australia Post Receipt of Application. You may submit a certified copy of your Certificate directly through the Contact Us tab, or phone (02) 6773 2000 for assistance with your circumstances.

When you receive your Tax File Number, you will need to update your student record immediately. For further information or advice regarding Tax File Numbers, please submit your enquiry to the Student Accounts Team through the Contact Us tab, or phone (02) 6773 2000 for assistance.
